At Hillside College Mityana, we are proudly rooted in the Seventh-day Adventist tradition. Our spiritual program is designed to guide students into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ while embracing the distinctive Adventist message of hope, health, and service.
Every school day begins and ends with prayer, scripture reading, and worship. Morning and evening devotions in the chapel and dormitories help students develop a consistent, personal connection with God.
From Friday sunset to Saturday sunset, we honor the seventh-day Sabbath as a holy day of rest, worship, and fellowship. Our Sabbath services include Sabbath School, Divine Worship, and afternoon youth activities that celebrate God's creation.
Regular Bible classes, small group studies, and discipleship programs equip students with sound biblical knowledge. We encourage every learner to explore Scripture deeply and apply its timeless wisdom to modern life.
Following Christ's example, we teach students to love God supremely and to love their neighbors unconditionally, showing genuine care for everyone.
We emphasize truthfulness, moral courage, and ethical living, encouraging students to be trustworthy individuals whose words and deeds align.
Inspired by the Adventist calling to serve humanity, our students actively participate in community outreach, sharing the love of God through practical acts of kindness.
Embracing the Adventist health message, we promote physical wellness, temperate living, and a balanced lifestyle as essential parts of spiritual maturity.
Our faith comes alive through action. Hillside College Mityana students are actively involved in sharing God's love with the community through various outreach and mission initiatives.
Students and staff visit nearby villages, hospitals, and prisons to share the Adventist message of hope and provide material support to those in need.
Organized health expos, blood donation camps, and charity collections that reflect Christ's healing ministry and compassion for the suffering.
Our Pathfinder and Adventurer clubs mentor younger children in the community, teaching life skills, leadership, and biblical values in a fun, engaging environment.
True education goes beyond academics. At Hillside College Mityana, we are committed to developing students who reflect the character of Christ in every aspect of their lives.
"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding." — Proverbs 9:10
As a Seventh-day Adventist institution, we believe that education is a redemptive process — one that restores in each student the image of their Creator. Our holistic approach addresses the mental, physical, social, and spiritual dimensions of life. Through daily devotionals, weekly chapel services, annual spiritual emphasis weeks, and pastoral care, we create an environment where faith can flourish.
Our chaplaincy team works alongside class teachers, dormitory masters, and parents to provide consistent spiritual guidance. We encourage students to make personal commitments to Christ, to be baptized into the Adventist faith, and to discover their unique God-given purpose. Many of our graduates have gone on to become pastors, missionaries, and active lay leaders in Adventist churches across Uganda and beyond.
Above all, we want every Hillside student to know that they are loved by God, called to a meaningful life of service, and equipped with the tools to make a positive difference in the world — all to the glory of God.
