Our Story

The Hillside College Journey

Hillside College Mityana was founded in 1995 with a vision to provide quality, holistic education to the youth of Uganda. What began as a small school with just a handful of students has grown into one of the most respected secondary institutions in the region, serving over 1,800 students with a dedicated faculty of 95+ teachers.

From our humble beginnings, we have remained steadfast in our commitment to academic excellence, character development, and spiritual growth. Our founders believed that education should nurture the whole person — mind, body, and spirit — and this philosophy continues to guide everything we do at Hillside College Mityana.

Over the past 29 years, we have produced thousands of graduates who have gone on to excel in universities across Uganda and beyond, in professional careers, and as leaders in their communities. Our alumni network spans the globe, a testament to the enduring impact of a Hillside education.

1995

Foundation

Hillside College Mityana opens its doors with 45 students and 8 teachers, founded on principles of faith and academic excellence.

2000

First UNEB Success

The school achieves its first 100% pass rate in UCE examinations, establishing a reputation for academic excellence in the region.

2008

A-Level Program Launch

Introduction of the Advanced Level program, expanding educational opportunities for our students and the community.

2015

Campus Expansion

Major infrastructure development including new science laboratories, a modern library, and additional classroom blocks to accommodate growing enrollment.

2020

Digital Transformation

Integration of technology in teaching and learning, including computer labs and digital resources for enhanced education delivery.

AI Learning Initiative
